Diagnostic Imaging

CT scanners are essential for diagnosing cancer, monitoring treatments, and guiding care in countless situations. Think of a young athlete injured on the ice, someone in pain from possible kidney stones, a loved one having a stroke, or a friend worried about pneumonia. When every second counts, access to reliable CT technology can make all the difference.

Our hospital has two scanners, but the busiest one is now ten years old and struggling to keep up with rising demand. The result? Growing wait times and mounting frustration for both patients and staff.

Your support will ensure our hospitals' teams have the best, state-of-the-art tools on hand for the patients in our care.

Lakeridge Health & Grandview Kids Partnership

Children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs who can’t tolerate minor medical procedures without sedation struggle to access timely and trusted care for simple things like blood work, injections, ear and nose care, routine exams, and so much more.

That’s why Lakeridge Health is partnering with Grandview Kids, a treatment centre dedicated to supporting children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs, to create a first-of-its-kind in Canada outpatient procedure room.

New Whitby Hospital

On August 1, 2024 the Ontario government announced a transformation investment in health care infrastructure across Durham Region to better meet the needs of our residents.

The multi-phase redevelopment will build a more connected system of care across the region and includes projects to expand Lakeridge Health’s hospital campuses in Bowmanville, Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax and Pickering.

To date, the Ontario government has provided more than $12 million in capital planning grants to support Lakeridge Health’s master redevelopment plan, as part of a larger overall investment to complete this multi-phase expansion.
